Everybody wants one.......Fast Metabolism

by: Tanya Freisler - TanquaTraining

Some people have an inherently fast metabolism, some don’t. How can you give yours a boost?
  1. Start your day with a glass of warm water and lemon juice. Our kidney and liver are our elimination stations for metabolic toxic waste. By drinking warm water and lemon juice in the morning as your first act of kindness to yourself…… you kick start your liver function with the opportunity for a clean. Don’t forget –overnight its been clicking away in sleep mode with no lubrication ie water. Dehydration makes things sticky, water will help the transfer of function and waste. Our organs need space and hydration to be able to work effectively. This is why when you eat poorly and gain weight around your midsection the metabolism slows down, Excess salt, bad fats and sugar are toxins to the body- the body draws on the water in your muscle and organs to neutralise toxins. You can be dehydrated and not even know it leading to a sluggish metabolism as a result.

  2. Increase your intake of fruits and vegetables- particularly vegetables. Fiber is awesome!!!! A natural gut sweeper that provides you with a rich source of nutrients for optimal function. You can eat as many vegetables as you like……be mindful though- that does not mean white potatoes as a staple. The cleaner your gut is the more effectively it will process nutrients, eliminate waste and maintain a balanced weight. Protein in the morning is also an effective way to flip your metabolism. As protein takes more energy to digest, your body begins the day with increasing your metabolism.

  3. Movement that changes your heart rate. HITT sessions change your heart rate consistently through the program, this means your body has to work harder to regulate and normalise the increase of blood flow through your heart. It’s hard work so you burn more calories as a result. Interval running and skipping are also a great way to increase your cardio endurance and burn calories. Basically you want to include compound movements which use all your muscles and joints to get the most effective results through exercise. As your heart muscle strengthens your body will use the nutrients you input more effectively to assist function.
